Day 1 to Amarillo - Fun in the Wind!

When we went to bed last night, Toni and I decided to not be any hurry to get started so we planned to sleep until we awakened without an alarm.  So..................we did.  But, we were awake by 4:30 this morning so we got up, spent another 2 hours finishing loading, and were on our way!  Our motor home has a lot of storage, which is a good thing since there isn't a bite of food or a piece of clothing left in the house.  We don't figure there are any grocery stores where we are going so we packed it in.

Here is a picture of our rig all ready to pull out.  I carry both of my bicycles to make people think I am a real athlete or that maybe there is a really macho guy in the motor home.  It is safer that way.

We travelled 377 miles to Amarillo and by 2:00, we had finished our little lunch and started relaxing.  Very pretty campground, don'tcha think?  All gravel!

And, here we are (ours is on the right, in case you don't recognize it).  All set up.  The wind was blowing hard from our left all the way up here but with the changes that have been made to our MH, driving was easy.  I hate the wind though so we are thinking about sleeping in again and pulling out arount 5:00 tomorrow morning to avoid it some.
